Woman Injured in March 3rd Crash Has Died, Police Report

The Delaware State Police are continuing their investigation into a crash that occurred in the Dover area on March 3, 2024, following the death of 85-year-old Joyce Henry of Dover, Delaware, who succumbed to injuries sustained in the incident.

The collision took place at around 8:26 p.m, on N. Dupont Highway, north of Rose Bowl Road. A 2004 Toyota Corolla, traveling northbound, attempted to cross the southbound lanes of N. Dupont Highway at the entrance for Pinewood Acres. Simultaneously, a 2006 BMW 325 was traveling in the left southbound lane.

The Toyota entered the BMW’s path of travel, resulting in a collision in the left southbound lane of N. Dupont Highway. Joyce Henry, the driver of the Toyota, was airlifted to a trauma hospital with life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, on March 15, 2024, she passed away due to injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver of the BMW, a 20-year-old male from Dover, Delaware, and a 17-year-old female passenger were transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries.

Following the collision, the roadway was closed for approximately three hours to facilitate investigation and clearance of the scene. The Delaware State Police urge anyone with relevant information about the incident to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
