HEIDELBERG TOWNSHIP, PA – A late-night vehicle accident in Heidelberg Township prompted a significant response from local fire and emergency services. The incident occurred at the intersection of York Road and Porters Road, engaging multiple units in a rescue operation.
Porters Fire Company, along with Wellspan EMS Heidelberg Station MICU 97-41 and Friendship Hose Company #1 Spring Grove Rescue 4, were dispatched to the scene following a report of the crash. The situation escalated upon the arrival of the Northern York County Regional Police, who reported entrapment, leading to an upgraded response. Chief 53-2 took command, requesting an additional MICU and coordinating the rescue efforts.

The rescue teams utilized Holmatro tools to extricate one of the victims from the vehicle. Both Engine 53-1 and Rescue 4 were involved in the extraction, with Engine 53-2 providing additional manpower and ensuring a safe working area. Fire Police from Jefferson Vol Fire Company and others also supported the operation at the scene.
One individual was transported to a local hospital, while a second person declined medical transport. The Northern York County Regional Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
