Taylor Farms Pacific has initiated a recall of approximately 19,976 pounds of ready-to-eat apple walnut with chicken salad bowl products. The recall is due to misbranding and the presence of an undeclared wheat allergen, as announced by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The affected products were produced between February 28 and March 9. The recall specifically targets 5.5-oz. clear plastic bowl containers labeled “kroger APPLE WALNUT WITH CHICKEN SALAD KIT FOR ONE.” These products have use by dates ranging from March 12 to March 22 and include a variety of lot codes.
These items bear the establishment number “P-34013” and were distributed to retail locations across twelve states, including Alaska, Arizona, California, and others. The discrepancy was identified during a routine quality assurance review, prompting immediate notification to FSIS.
While there have been no reports of illness, FSIS advises consumers in possession of the recalled products to either dispose of them or return them to their place of purchase.
