Dover Man Faces Charges for Unlawful Armed Imprisonment of Uber Driver

DOVER, DE — The Dover Police Department announced the arrest of 38-year-old Brent Weeks following an altercation with an Uber driver. The incident occurred on Tuesday, March 5, around 9:32 p.m., at a 7-11 located at 654 North DuPont Highway.

According to the police, the altercation began when Weeks, after being picked up by the Uber driver, demanded to change his destination and subsequently threatened the driver with a knife. Weeks also prevented the driver from stopping the vehicle or exiting it.

The driver eventually managed to stop at the 7-11, escape, and alert the authorities.

Weeks was apprehended shortly after while walking along North DuPont Highway, with police recovering an approximately 6-inch knife upon his arrest. He was taken to the Dover Police Department for processing and arraignment on charges of unlawful imprisonment and related offenses.
