OCEAN CITY, MD — A lucky Mega Millions player in Ocean City won $10,000 in the March 5 drawing, just as the jackpot soars to $687 million for Friday night. The winning ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven #19354 located on 13900 Coastal Highway, in Wicomico County.
The winning numbers for the sizable third-tier prize were 02, 49, 50, 61, and 70, with the gold Mega Ball 14. To secure this prize, the ticket matched four of the white balls plus the Mega Ball. Lottery officials urge the winner to sign the back of the ticket and keep it secure until claiming the prize, which must be done within 182 days from the drawing.
Although there were no jackpot winners in the last drawing, Maryland boasted 30,516 winners of various prizes ranging from $2 to $10,000. With the jackpot rolling over, the upcoming Mega Millions drawing on Friday is set at an estimated annuity of $687 million, with a cash option of $332.3 million. Meanwhile, the Powerball game is also seeing a significant jackpot, estimated at an annuity of $485 million, with a cash option of $232.4 million.
