On Monday, NYPD detectives apprehended four individuals within the jurisdiction of the Midtown South Precinct in connection with a violent incident. The suspects, aged 15 to 17, were charged with gang assault and assault following an ongoing investigation into the matter.
The arrests stemmed from an altercation reported to the police on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at approximately 5:30 PM. According to reports, a 17-year-old male victim was confronted by a group of unidentified individuals near West 42nd Street and 7th Avenue. The confrontation escalated into a physical assault, during which the victim was subjected to repeated punches and kicks. Additionally, the victim sustained a stab wound to the back during the altercation.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the scene and subsequently transported the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was listed in stable condition. The perpetrators fled the scene on foot and were last observed entering the Times Square subway station.
