MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD – The Montgomery County Police Department’s Major Crimes Division is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in an armed robbery at a Chipotle restaurant. The incident occurred on Sunday, February 4, at around 9:15 p.m. in the 7600 block of Old Georgetown Rd.

According to the initial investigation, the suspect entered the restaurant, placed an order, and subsequently threatened an employee by implying he had a weapon in his backpack, demanding the register be emptied.

The cashier managed to escape and alert the police. The suspect then attempted to access the cash register himself but failed.

Upon encountering another employee, the suspect revealed a tan and black handgun and forced the employee to open the register. An undisclosed sum of money was taken before the suspect fled the scene. Detectives have released surveillance footage of the suspect.

The suspect is described as a Black male, aged approximately 20-25 years, with a height ranging between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 8 inches.
