BETHESDA, MD — The Montgomery County Police Department’s Major Crimes Division is actively investigating an armed robbery at a Dunkin’ Donuts located in the 7500 block of Georgetown Road in Bethesda, which occurred on Saturday, February 17, 2024. In an effort to identify the suspect, detectives have released surveillance footage to the public and are seeking assistance.
The incident took place at approximately 7:47 p.m., prompting a response from officers of the 2nd District. According to the investigation, a male suspect entered the store and confronted an employee behind the counter. Implying possession of a handgun tucked into his waistband, the suspect demanded money. The employee complied, handing over an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. Before fleeing the scene, the suspect pointed the handgun at the employee.
The suspect is described as a male in his twenties or thirties, around 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, and was armed during the incident.
