Dogfish Head Celebrates Delaware with 302 Day Festival at Milton Brewery

Milton, DEL. – Dogfish Head Brewery, in collaboration with 302 Horseshoe Crab, is set to host the third annual 302 Day, celebrating Delaware’s unique culture and community.

Scheduled for Saturday, March 2, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Dogfish Head’s Milton Brewery, the event promises free admission, local food and drinks, entertainment, and the return of the 302 Lager, a beer dedicated to the First State. Recognized as the “2022 Best Event” by Southern Delaware Tourism, 302 Day includes lawn games, a Delaware spirit costume contest, live music, and band karaoke. Additionally, 302 Horseshoe Crab will offer an annual sale and unveil new co-branded merchandise with Dogfish Head.

Dogfish Head Founder & Brewer, Sam Calagione, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, highlighting the community’s support and the partnership with 302 Horseshoe Crab’s Keith Mosher and Karlin Maull in both the creation of 302 Lager and the event’s spirit. This year, for the first time, Delaware State Parks will conduct a live auction for a Low-Digit Surf Fishing Tag, with proceeds supporting Friends of Delaware State Parks through Dogfish Head’s Beer & Benevolence Program.

The 302 Lager, first introduced in 2023 to mark 302 Day, returns for this year’s celebration. Brewed with 2-row barley malt, heirloom corn, and Sauvignon Blanc grape must, the beer features the iconic 302 Horseshoe Crab logo. Mosher and Maull, reflecting on their involvement in the brewing process, shared their anticipation for this year’s release, noting the effort and energy that goes into brewing.

Available for on-site consumption and to-go in 4pk/16oz cans at Dogfish Head’s Milton Brewery and Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats in Rehoboth, the 302 Lager is priced at $15 per pack, while supplies last. For more information about 302 Day and the festivities, visit the Dogfish Head website.
