Severn, MD – A Severn man has been arrested following a significant narcotics and weapons violation investigation by local authorities.
In early February, the Western District Narcotics Team initiated an investigation into alleged controlled dangerous substances (CDS) distribution within the area. This investigation culminated on February 23, with the execution of a search warrant at a residence located in the 1000 block of Tuscany Lane. Michael Kimberly Ellis Jr., a 20-year-old local resident, was arrested during the operation.
The search of Ellis Jr.’s home led to the discovery and confiscation of a substantial quantity of drugs and weapons. Authorities seized approximately 747 grams of suspected cannabis, 364 grams of suspected Psilocybin mushrooms, and eight packages of suspected THC vape pens. The weapons cache included a loaded Glock handgun, a .556 caliber Karris KG15 AR pistol, along with multiple rounds of various ammunition and magazines. Additionally, $28,392 in U.S. currency was found at the premises. Due to his age, Ellis Jr. is prohibited from possessing firearms.
