Washington, D.C. – Kenneth Giusini, 67, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has been arrested on charges stemming from his participation in the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol breach. Giusini faces a felony charge of obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder, along with misdemeanor charges related to unauthorized entry and disruptive conduct in and around the Capitol. The FBI arrested Giusini in Philadelphia, and he is set to make his initial court appearance in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Surveillance and body-worn camera footage played a crucial role in Giusini’s identification and arrest. The footage revealed that Giusini entered the Capitol through the north door around 3:10 p.m. on the day of the riot. He was filmed standing in a hallway, seemingly recording police officers as they attempted to control the situation. Despite efforts by the officers to expel rioters, Giusini managed to remain inside for over a minute before being pushed out.
Further complications arose when Giusini, having been expelled, returned to the North Portico area. Body-worn camera footage captured him shoving an officer in an attempt to re-enter the Capitol. Although removed by another officer, Giusini persisted in his efforts to push through the police lines before being removed from the scene once again.
