Sparta, NJ – Assemblyman Michael Inganamort recently convened with Jewish leaders from across his district for a pivotal conversation on the escalation of antisemitism, particularly on college campuses.
Following a 42-hour visit to Israel, where Inganamort engaged with military leaders and families affected by the Oct. 7 attack, the Assemblyman expressed his intent to apply his observations towards fostering understanding and safety within his community. “Having witnessed the impact of Hamas’ actions and the Jewish people’s endurance, I am driven to collaborate with our local Jewish faith leaders,” Inganamort remarked, highlighting a mutual desire for dignity, respect, and security in communities and educational institutions.
The meeting, held at Inganamort’s district office in Sparta, saw participation from Rabbis of Chabad of Sussex County, Chabad of Chester-Mendham, and Temple Shalom in Roxbury, alongside board members of the Jewish Federation of Greater Metrowest. Notable attendees also included Morris County Commissioner Deborah Smith and Hopatcong Councilwoman Jennifer Johnson, contributing their insights from county and local government perspectives.
