Bronx, NY – Enrique Lopez, a 23-year-old Queens resident, faces manslaughter and other charges following a deadly car stunt in Hunts Point that resulted in two fatalities and a critical injury. Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced the indictment, highlighting the tragic consequences of Lopez’s alleged reckless driving.
On January 21, at around 3:17 a.m., Lopez, performing dangerous stunts in a 2013 Chrysler 300, lost control and collided with a fuel truck. The crash claimed the lives of 15-year-old Sabrina Villagomez and 21-year-old Giovante Roberson, while another 17-year-old passenger was critically injured. The defendant’s vehicle was found to contain a stolen Hellcat engine, adding to the gravity of the charges against him.
Lopez, who was arraigned before Bronx Supreme Court Justice Brenda Rivera, faces multiple charges including second-degree manslaughter and assault, reckless endangerment, and possession of stolen property. His driver’s license has been suspended, and he is expected to return to court on June 5, 2024. This incident underscores the lethal risks of stunt driving on public roads.
