Gloucester Township, NJ – A pedestrian was injured in a hit and run crash at Gloucester Township Community Park, authorities reported.
On Monday, February 19, 2024, at around 3:00 PM, Gloucester Township Police were called to the scene at 400 Hickstown Road in the Erial section of Gloucester Township, following a report of an individual found bleeding inside a vehicle.
Gloucester Township Fire Department Station 85, alongside Inspiria BLS and Medics, were already providing medical attention to the victim upon police arrival.
The initial investigation suggests that the adult male victim was either dislodged from the hood of a moving vehicle or was hit by the vehicle following a verbal altercation. The victim was subsequently airlifted to Cooper Hospital by Hackensack Meridian Health Medivac for treatment.
Authorities are actively searching for the vehicle involved, which fled the scene heading in an undetermined direction. Described as a dark gray or dark colored 4-door sedan, the search is part of an ongoing investigation by the Gloucester Township Police Department’s Serious Crash Investigation Team and the Investigations Bureau. This incident remains under active investigation.
