Bergen County, NJ – Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced that a fire at 850 Palisade Avenue in Teaneck is currently under investigation. The incident, which occurred early Monday morning, is being closely examined by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Teaneck Police Department.
At around 12:30 a.m. on Monday, the Teaneck Police Department was alerted to the blaze at the reported address.
Officers from the Teaneck Police Department, alongside firefighters from the Teaneck and Hackensack Fire Departments, responded to the scene.
During their efforts to suppress the fire, they discovered several individuals trapped in the basement of the property, all of whom were subsequently transported to Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment. Their current conditions are unknown at this time.
The investigation into the cause and circumstances of the fire is being led by Acting Chief Matthew Finck of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and Teaneck Police Department Chief Andrew McGurr. As of now, no further details have been released regarding the ongoing investigation.
