Toms River Police Report Multiple Incidents Including Theft, DWI, and Suspicious Activities

Toms River, NJ – The Toms River Police Department has reported a series of incidents ranging from theft to DWI in the past few days.

On February 15, a Jackson Township resident was arrested by the New Jersey State Police on a theft warrant issued by the Toms River Police Department (TRPD) and subsequently sent to the Ocean County Jail. That same day, a Toms River resident was detained for DWI and possession of crack at the intersection of Route 37 East and Bowling Green Drive, in compliance with John’s Law. Additionally, a homeowner on Cedarwood Drive reported missing jewelry after contractors installed new windows in her home, prompting an ongoing investigation.

A traffic stop turned into a pursuit when a Toyota Sienna fled into oncoming traffic, leading to a discontinued chase by TRPD but later resulted in a 2nd degree charge warrant for the driver. Furthermore, a significant drug bust occurred on Chatham Ct, with authorities seizing 50 lbs of marijuana, 150 lbs of edibles, crystal meth, and a loaded .45 handgun, marking an ongoing investigation.

Other reported incidents include a $500 warrant settled during a traffic stop at Bay & Hooper Avenue, a juvenile altercation at Ocean County Mall with no charges filed, and a case of domestic violence harassment on Primrose Ct, where an intoxicated male harassed his mother and was arrested. A suspicious person investigation in Magnolia Gardens led to the arrest of an individual with multiple out-of-town warrants.

On February 16, a fraud case was reported at a WaWa location where an unknown suspect used a counterfeit $100 bill to purchase gas and snacks. The Toms River Police Department has not provided further comments on these incidents, highlighting the diverse nature of police work in the community.
