New York, NY – The New York City Police Department has issued a call for public assistance in identifying the suspect involved in a recent forcible touching incident on a subway train. The incident occurred on a southbound 1 train near the “South Ferry” subway station, where a 44-year-old woman reported an unknown individual had inappropriately touched her.
The incident took place on Wednesday, January 31, at around 1:05 PM, as the train approached the station.
According to the victim, the assailant approached her from behind, pressed his body against her back, and then reached around to grab her inner thigh near her privates. Following the incident, the individual was last observed on the platforms of the South Ferry subway station. Despite the distressing nature of the event, the victim did not sustain any physical injuries.
The NYPD has released media related to the suspect in hopes that individuals with any information regarding his whereabouts will come forward. The police emphasize the importance of community assistance in locating and apprehending the suspect to prevent further incidents.
