Police Continue to Search for Missing Kayaker

Harrisburg, PA – A kayaker has been reported missing following an incident near City Island in Harrisburg. Harrisburg Police Patrol Units were dispatched to the south side of City Island around 2:00 PM on February 16, in response to reports of a missing kayaker. Upon arrival, officers identified the missing individual as 44-year-old Brenton King.

The Harrisburg Bureau of Fire later found King’s kayak in the Susquehanna River, south of City Island, but King himself was nowhere to be seen. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding his disappearance was immediately initiated. As of 1:30 PM on February 17, Brenton King has yet to be located.

He is described as a Black male, around 6 feet tall with a thin build, and was likely wearing fluorescent orange and black bibs at the time of his disappearance.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about this incident to contact the Harrisburg Police at 717-558-6900. Information can also be submitted through the CRIMEWATCH website. The search for Brenton King continues, as officials and the community hope for his safe return.
