Man Charged with Murder After Assault Victim Died at Hospital

Prince Frederick, MD – A serious assault in Prince Frederick has led to the arrest of 27-year-old Thomas Eugene Harris II, facing charges of First-Degree Murder and First-Degree Assault.

The incident occurred on the evening of February 15, 2024, around 10:22 PM, when Calvert County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Armory Road and Fairgrounds Road. Upon arrival, they found 30-year-old Shaquille Quadry Braxton of Prince Frederick critically injured. Despite prompt medical assistance at the scene, Braxton was transported to CalvertHealth, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

The Criminal Investigations Bureau of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office took over the investigation, leading to the identification and apprehension of Harris. He has since been taken to the Calvert County Detention Center, with authorities indicating that additional charges may be filed.
