Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced the arrest of Brandon Espinosa, a 42-year-old Jersey City resident, in relation to a hit-and-run crash that resulted in serious injuries to a pedestrian. The incident, which took place on December 6, 2022, led to Espinosa facing charges for leaving the scene and endangering the injured victim.
Espinosa has been charged with Knowingly Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Collision Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, and Endangering an Injured Victim, both of which are third-degree crimes. He was apprehended at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus and was subsequently released pending his court appearance scheduled for March 7, 2024.
The arrest stems from an investigation into a collision at the intersection of Griffith Street and Sherman Avenue in Jersey City, where a 36-year-old man was found with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle. The victim received immediate medical attention at Jersey City Medical Center. The vehicle involved in the incident was located following the collision, but the driver, now identified as Espinosa, had fled the scene.
