Allentown, PA – District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan announced the arrest of Jose and Latasha Santiago regarding a 2020 Allentown murder and robbery.

The couple was apprehended today by the Allentown Police Department and the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force, subsequently being held without bail at Lehigh County Jail. The investigation, led by Detectives Harold Bonser and Timothy Salgado, culminated in these arrests, with prosecution by First Assistant District Attorney Eric Dowdle and Senior Deputy District Attorney Gregory Englert.

Jose and Latasha Santiago, both residents of Allentown, face charges including Criminal Homicide, Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Homicide and Robbery, all felonies of the first degree. Additionally, Jose Santiago is charged with an Attempt to Commit Criminal Homicide and misdemeanors, including Theft by Unlawful Taking and Receiving Stolen Property.

The incident on October 17, 2020, involved the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Christian Lopez-Rodriguez. After the shooting, Jose Santiago, identified as the shooter, was seen fleeing into a gold sports utility vehicle. A witness and video surveillance corroborated the events, leading to the Santiagos’ arrest. Ballistic evidence further linked Jose Santiago’s firearm to the crime.
