WASHINGTON, D.C. – A shooting early this morning in Northwest D.C. left one man dead.
D.C. police were dispatched to an incident involving gunfire and responded to a call received at approximately 2:41 a.m. Officers rushed to the scene, which was located on the 900 block of Shepherd Street. Upon arrival, they discovered an individual suffering from several gunshot injuries, found unresponsive in front of a residential property.
Emergency medical services, provided by D.C. Fire and EMS, were quickly on the scene, where the victim was declared deceased. Identification of the deceased is pending.
Authorities are actively searching for a suspect, described by police as a black man wearing black attire, last observed moving westward on Taylor Street. The police are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward and contact the Police Department at 202-727-6099 or by texting 50411.
