WASHINGTON, D.C. – A fatal shooting incident near a Southeast D.C. daycare resulted in the death of a man Tuesday evening, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Officers responded to a report of a car crash in the 3200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue shortly after 5 p.m. On arrival, they discovered a vehicle in the parking lot of the daycare, with the victim found inside suffering from a head injury, later identified as a gunshot wound.
The man was declared dead at the scene, and his identity has yet to be disclosed. Homicide detectives were observed examining a gray car in the parking lot for clues.
