Suffolk County, NY – Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced today the sentencing of 53-year-old Kevin Galloway of Holtsville, who received a two to six-year prison term after his guilty plea for leaving the scene of an accident without reporting, resulting in the death of 48-year-old Natividad Interiano of Huntington.

In a statement, District Attorney Tierney condemned Galloway’s actions, highlighting the defendant’s failure to assist the victim after the crash. The DA expressed gratitude towards the prosecution team for their efforts in securing the conviction and voiced hope that the sentence would bring some solace to Interiano’s bereaved family and friends.

Court documents and Galloway’s admission during his November 2023 plea revealed that on the evening of August 27, 2023, Galloway, while driving his black 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, struck Interiano as he was crossing East Pulaski Road in Huntington Station with the aid of a cane. Interiano was declared dead at the scene.

Following the incident, surveillance footage showed Galloway fleeing to a BP Gas Station on Park Avenue, where he was observed inspecting and tampering with his vehicle’s damage. In the days following, Galloway attempted to conceal his involvement by replacing parts of his vehicle and scrapping the damaged pieces.

Galloway’s arrest on September 1, 2023, came after he acknowledged being behind the wheel at the time of the accident. Supreme Court Justice Timothy P. Mazzei, who presided over the case, delivered the sentence on February 6, 2024, which includes a revocation of Galloway’s license. Eric Besso, Esq., represented the defendant.
