WASHINGTON, DC — Authorities are appealing for public assistance to identify two individuals involved in an attempted armed robbery within a Northwest D.C. establishment late Monday afternoon. The incident unfolded at around 5:55 p.m. in the 1600 block of 33rd Street, where the suspects targeted an employee.
According to reports, the duo entered the premises and proceeded to a room occupied by an employee. Employing intimidation tactics, one suspect brandished a firearm while they demanded money. The employee, demonstrating the absence of valuables by showing empty pockets, was not harmed as the suspects decided to leave the room. However, before exiting the establishment, they futilely attempted to snatch another person’s purse.

Despite their efforts, the suspects left empty-handed and were last seen fleeing the location. Surveillance systems in the vicinity captured images of the suspects, aiding in the ongoing investigation.
The D.C. Police Department urges anyone with information regarding the identity or whereabouts of these individuals to come forward. Citizens are advised not to engage directly but to contact the authorities at (202) 727-9099 or submit tips anonymously via the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
