Minutes later, the violence escalated in the 300 block of N Street, NE, where the suspect shot Alberto Vasquez Jr., 35, who succumbed to his injuries. The car stolen during this attack was found in Prince George’s County.
The spree continued into Prince George’s County with two more carjackings. In a shocking turn, the suspect engaged in a shootout with police while driving one of the stolen vehicles on I-295, striking a Sixth District cruiser. The encounter ended on Annapolis Road, where New Carrollton Police killed the suspect.
