QUEENS, NY – The Queens District Attorney’s office has indicted Oliver Rodriguez, 26, from Cypress Hills, on charges related to a series of burglaries in Lindenwood.

The indictment includes eight counts each of second and third-degree burglary, eight counts of petit larceny, and one count of possession of a burglar’s tools. Rodriguez faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted. His arraignment on Friday follows a spree of mail thefts in six apartment buildings, starting on Christmas Day and continuing into the new year.

The charges state that on December 25, 2023, Rodriguez began his crime spree at 87-10 149th Avenue, forcibly entering the building and stealing packages from the mail room.

This pattern continued over several days at various locations, with the most recent incident on January 8, at 88-29 155th Avenue. Surveillance video evidence played a key role in identifying Rodriguez’s actions.

Rodriguez was arrested on January 14, following an investigation led by Detective Peter Ferrizz of the New York Police Department’s Detective Squad. Justice Quynda Santacroce has scheduled his next court appearance for March 7. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Christopher Theodorou, under the supervision of higher-ups in the District Attorney’s office.
