CAMBRIDGE, MD — The Cambridge Police Department is actively investigating an armed robbery that occurred on January 26, 2024, around 5:15 pm in the 600 block of Wells Street. According to the police report, five juvenile males, described as African American and dressed in black, approached the victims in what escalated into a threatening encounter.

The incident unfolded as four of the suspects allegedly blocked the victims’ path on the sidewalk, while the fifth suspect confronted the victims directly. This individual is reported to have pushed the victims before brandishing a handgun and demanding they empty their pockets. The victims complied, surrendering a cell phone and a wallet containing identification and a credit card, which the suspects then took before fleeing the scene on foot.

Cambridge Police Officers, responding to the scene, were able to make contact with the victims and, based on their accounts, have identified three of the five suspects involved. The identified suspects, all residents of Cambridge, are aged 13, 15, and 16.

Following the identification, the Cambridge Police Department consulted with the Dorchester County State’s Attorney’s office. Based on this consultation, juvenile referrals for the three identified juveniles have been initiated in connection with their alleged involvement in the armed robbery.
