Gang of Illegal Migrants Attack NYPD Cops in Times Square

New York, NY – A recent incident in Midtown Manhattan has drawn significant attention after a group of migrants violently attacked two NYPD officers. The assault, which took place on January 27, 2024, near the Candler Building at 220 West 42nd Street, occurred around 8:30 p.m. during an arrest attempt that escalated rapidly.

According to reports, the police officers were trying to disperse a disorderly group loitering in the area when the situation turned violent. The officers were attempting to handcuff one individual when they were suddenly set upon by several others, leading to a brutal attack that was caught on camera.

The footage released by the NYPD shows the officers being kicked and punched by multiple assailants. Both officers suffered scratches, bumps, and bruises but thankfully, their injuries were not life-threatening. They were treated at the scene for their injuries.

Five individuals, identified as migrants, were arrested in connection with the attack. These include Darwin Andres Gomez-Izquiel, 19, of Mississippi; Kelvin Servita Arocha, 19, and Yorman Reveron, 24, both residing in Brooklyn; Wilson Juarez, 21, of Queens; and Jhoan Boada, 22, who is listed as homeless. They were charged with assault on a police officer, gang assault, obstructing governmental administration, and disorderly conduct. Despite the severity of the incident, all five men were reportedly released on their own recognizance following their arraignment.
