BROOKLYN, NY – The Brooklyn District Attorney, Eric Gonzalez, announced the sentencing of William Moss, a 23-year-old resident of Stuyvesant Heights, to 20 years in prison.
The sentencing, delivered by Supreme Court Justice Danny Chun, follows Moss’s guilty plea to second-degree attempted murder, dated September 7, 2023.
On December 24, 2020, Moss engaged in an argument over the phone with his girlfriend and later threatened to shoot at her home on Bergen Street, Crown Heights.
Responding to a call from the victim’s mother, six officers arrived at the scene. Moss appeared and fired two shots, one of which hit Officer Connor Boalick, then 27, in the back. The officer’s bulletproof vest prevented serious injury.
Moss fled on foot but was apprehended shortly after, two blocks away. His 9-millimeter pistol was also recovered. Officer Boalick received treatment for bruising and abrasions at Kings County Hospital.
