Syracuse Teen Arrested for Ghost Gun, Cocaine, Fentanyl

SYRACUSE, NY – A 15-year-old teenager was arrested after being found in possession of a “ghost gun” and substantial quantities of fentanyl and cocaine. The arrest occurred on Saturday, January 27th, around 12:07 P.M., following a response to a suspicious person report in the 200 block of Sabine Street by Officers Silvaggio and Mulroy.

Upon arrival, the officers observed the teenager, who matched the suspect description, engaging in what appeared to be an illegal narcotics transaction with another individual on Sabine Street. When the officers attempted to approach the teen with their patrol vehicle, he fled on foot. After a brief chase, they successfully apprehended him near the intersection of Sabine and Delaware Streets.

During the arrest, a .45 caliber Glock 21 Gen4 handgun fell from the suspect’s jacket pocket. This handgun, equipped with a laser sight and a 24-round extended magazine, lacked a serial number, categorizing it as a ‘ghost gun.’ Additionally, the officers discovered the teenager in possession of over 21 grams of fentanyl, equivalent to 556 individual doses, and more than 12 grams of cocaine. Both narcotics were packaged for sale.

The teenager faces multiple charges, including Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second and Third Degrees, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, two counts in the Fourth Degree, three counts in the Seventh Degree, and Resisting Arrest.
