Middletown Township, PA – In a shocking incident, a 32-year-old man has been charged with the murder of his father in their Middletown Township home. The accused, Justin Mohn, of the 100 block of Upper Orchard Drive, was apprehended hours after the crime at Fort Indiantown Gap, Lebanon County. He faces charges of first-degree murder, abuse of a corpse, and possession of an instrument of crime. Magisterial District Judge Lisa Gaier arraigned him, and he was subsequently sent to Bucks County Correctional Facility without bail.
The Middletown Township Police were called to 145 Upper Orchard Drive in the township’s Levittown section at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, following a report of a deceased male. The report was made by the victim’s wife. Upon arrival, officers were informed of an elderly male found decapitated in the downstairs bathroom, surrounded by a large amount of blood. A machete and a large knife were discovered in the bathtub.
The investigation revealed the deceased male’s body in the first-floor bathroom, with his head placed inside a plastic bag in a cooking pot in a nearby bedroom. Bloody rubber gloves were also found in another bedroom and a trashcan next to a desk.
The deceased was identified as Michael F. Mohn, who resided at the home with his wife and adult son, Justin Mohn. Justin was not present when the police arrived. The victim’s wife reported that her husband and son were the only ones at home when she left around 2 p.m. on Tuesday. She also noted that her husband’s white 2009 Toyota Corolla and her son were missing upon her return.
Further into the investigation, the police learned of a 14-minute video posted on YouTube. In the video, Justin Mohn, wearing rubber gloves similar to those found at the scene, is seen holding the decapitated head of his father, whom he identifies by name.
Justin Mohn was later detained by the Fort Indiantown Gap Police Department. The case is currently under investigation by detectives from the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and the Middletown Township Police Department, with support from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Fort Indiantown Gap Police Department.
