Perth Amboy, NJ – A building fire at 226 Second Street prompted an urgent response from the Perth Amboy Fire Department (PAFD) on January 27 at 4:04 PM. Upon arrival, the firefighters encountered a one-story commercial building at the rear of the property, with visible smoke emissions.
Inside the building, the PAFD team discovered two vehicles engulfed in flames, with the fire extending to parts of the structure. The crews, comprising units E-1, E-2, T-3, R-1, C-1, C-4, C-5, C-8, and C-9, immediately engaged in firefighting operations. Their swift action led to the rapid extinguishment of the fire, preventing further damage to the property.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries from the incident. The PAFD’s investigation concluded that the fire was accidental, originating from a malfunction in one of the vehicles.
During the emergency, Engine 4 (E-4) provided coverage for the city, ensuring uninterrupted fire protection services for Perth Amboy residents.
