NYC Police Hunt for Suspect in Monday Night Shooting

NEW YORK CITY, NY – A recent assault has led the New York City Police Department to request public assistance in identifying the assailant. The incident took place on Monday, at about 10:10 pm in front of 218 East 165 Street.

A 24-year-old male victim was involved in a verbal dispute with an unidentified male, which escalated into a physical altercation.

During the confrontation, the assailant discharged a firearm, wounding the victim in the left leg. Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to NYC Health and Hospital/Lincoln, where he was reported to be in stable condition. The assailant fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

The suspect is a male with a medium complexion, approximately 5’8″ in height and weighing around 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and black sneakers. The DCPI has released images of the suspect.
