PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA – In a coordinated law enforcement effort, the Pittsburgh Police SWAT team, Fugitive Apprehension Unit detectives, and the U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force successfully executed a felony arrest warrant in the early hours of January 25, 2024. The operation targeted a 19-year-old male, Sean Jones, wanted for a series of violent armed robberies.
Jones was apprehended without incident in the 5000 block of Dyke Street in the Hazelwood neighborhood of Pittsburgh. The arrest yielded significant evidence, including three firearms, ammunition, suspected narcotics, a sum of U.S. currency, and multiple cell phones, all recovered from the residence.
The suspect faces a multitude of charges, including robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, and theft. These charges stem from his alleged involvement in an armed robbery that occurred on December 5, 2023, in Greensburg, Westmoreland County.
Additionally, Jones was wanted in connection with other criminal activities, including an armed robbery on October 22, 2023, on the South Side of Pittsburgh and another on October 18, 2023, in Shaler.
Following the arrest, Pennsylvania State Police took charge of transporting Jones to Westmoreland County, where he will face the charges laid against him.
