TINLEY PARK, Illinois – A devastating shooting in a Chicago-area suburb resulted in the deaths of Majeda Kassem, 53, and her three adult daughters, Halema, 25, Hanan, 24, and Zahia, 25. Tinley Park Police are currently investigating the incident, which they have described as “domestic related.”
The tragedy unfolded on Sunday, with police responding to a 911 call shortly before 11:30 a.m. Upon arrival at the Kassem residence, officers found the four women fatally shot and took a man into custody in connection with the shooting. A firearm, believed to be the weapon used in the incident, was also recovered at the scene.
Tinley Park Police Chief Tom Tilton, while addressing the media on Monday, refrained from confirming speculations about the relationship between the suspect and the victims. Despite the incident being categorized as domestic related, Chief Tilton emphasized the need for discretion to avoid jeopardizing the ongoing “complex” investigation and pending prosecution.
