Annapolis police arrested a man for destruction of property on January 18, 2024. The incident occurred at around 10:12 PM in the 100 block of Main Street. Officers were dispatched following a report of vandalism at the Market House info sign.
A witness described the suspect as a black male wearing jeans and a black jacket with a design on the back. The police quickly located the suspect, who was positively identified by the witness. Further investigation, including footage from city watch cameras, revealed the suspect also spray-painted the side of a building on Main Street.
The suspect, identified through his Maryland identification as Ty Wilder, 22, from Baltimore, was apprehended and transported to the Annapolis Police Department. He was charged with malicious destruction of property and held without bond at the Jennifer Road Detention Center. Additionally, a bench warrant for a probation violation was issued against Wilder on January 22, 2024.
