BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – The Baltimore Police Department is currently investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred in the early hours of January 21, 2024. At around 4:02 a.m., officers were called to the 3500 block of Reisterstown Road where they found an injured pedestrian.
The victim, a female identified as 64-year-old Wilma Barnes, received immediate aid from the officers and was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead by medical personnel.
The department’s CRASH Team has taken over the investigation. Preliminary findings suggest that Ms. Barnes was struck by an unidentified black vehicle, which then left the scene. The police are actively seeking information about the incident or the vehicle involved and urge anyone with knowledge to contact the CRASH Team at 410-396-2606 or dial 911. The cooperation of the public is critical in aiding this ongoing investigation.
