Toms River, NJ – Frankie Edgar, a prominent figure in mixed martial arts, has been named to the UFC Hall of Fame’s Modern Wing for the Class of 2024. Edgar, renowned for his exceptional career in the UFC, joins other distinguished athletes in this category.

Edgar’s journey in professional MMA began in 2005, quickly making a mark with six consecutive wins across four MMA promotions before joining the UFC in 2007. His debut in the UFC was marked by a victory over Tyson Griffin at UFC 67, where he also earned his first “Fight of the Night” bonus.

Throughout his 17-year career, Edgar amassed a record of 23-11-1. His notable achievements include victories over fellow UFC Hall of Famers and champions across multiple weight classes. His underdog win against BJ Penn at UFC 112 in 2010 stands out as one of his most memorable moments, where he claimed the UFC lightweight title.

Edgar retired in November 2022, leaving behind an impressive legacy that includes significant records in UFC history, such as the second most total Octagon fight time and the third most significant strikes landed.
