PHILADELPHIA, PA – Attorney General Michelle Henry announced a series of recent arrests in the Philadelphia area. The arrests, involving young individuals, were the result of collaborative efforts between local, state, and federal agencies under the Gun Violence Task Force.

The Task Force aims to combat straw purchases, illegal gun transfers, illegal possession, and violent crimes involving firearms. The recent operations have led to the arrests of juveniles and young offenders, some of whom were on juvenile probation for previous gun-related offenses.

Key cases from the recent operations included the arrest of a 16-year-old on probation, observed possessing an AK-47 on social media, and another juvenile apprehended for illegal firearm possession.

The Task Force also recovered several firearms, including ghost guns and handguns previously reported stolen.

The Attorney General office continues to engage in community outreach initiatives, focusing on preventative measures and interventions for at-risk youth.
