QUEENS, NY – Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz, in coordination with the New York City Police Department (NYPD), announced the indictment of five individuals in a significant drug and gun trafficking operation in Far Rockaway. This comes after a six-month collaborative investigation, which included undercover operations and phone tracking.

On Wednesday, law enforcement executed search warrants leading to the arrest of five indicted defendants and four additional suspects. The operation successfully seized 10 firearms, including ghost guns, and a kilogram of cocaine. The seizures are part of a broader effort to combat major crimes in the city.

The investigation, initiated in August 2023 by the Queens District Attorney’s Office and the NYPD’s Gun Violence Suppression Division, involved 16 undercover buys, resulting in the confiscation of drugs worth an estimated $50,000 street value.

The investigation focused on the sale of firearms and narcotics in Far Rockaway, with one of the defendants caught selling drugs at the Gateway Apartments complex.

Three defendants have been arraigned on a 55-count indictment, while the others await their arraignment.
