Newark Police Seek Two Brothers in Connection with Recent Shooting

NEWARK, NJ — Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is appealing to the public for assistance in locating two men wanted for questioning related to a recent shooting incident. Quincy Moody, 26, and Jermaine Moody, 23, brothers from Newark, are sought by the police in connection with a shooting that occurred on January 13, 2024.

The incident took place around 10:29 p.m. in the 800 block of South 19th Street. Responding to reports of a shooting in progress, Newark police found two 9mm shell casings, one on the street and another on a residential property. A subsequent search in the area led to the discovery of a handgun on the front seat of a white 2005 BMW lacking a license plate.

Quincy Moody is described as a Black male, 6’1” tall, weighing 253 pounds, with brown eyes, black hair, and a medium brown complexion. Jermaine Moody is also a Black male, standing 5’7” tall, weighing 155 pounds, with brown eyes, black hair, and a medium brown complexion.
