EVESHAM, NJ – On the night of December 31, Officer Ahmet Ekiz of the local police department executed a critical stop on Route 73 near Ardsley Drive, leading to an arrest. At approximately 11:30 PM, Officer Ekiz pulled over a vehicle for a hazardous moving violation. His initial interaction with the driver raised suspicions of driving under the influence of alcohol or narcotics.
Officer Ekiz’s prompt and thorough investigation resulted in the driver’s arrest for DUI. Further examination during the arrest process revealed the driver was in possession of a stolen firearm from Alabama, loaded with hollow point bullets. Additionally, the driver had distribution levels of ecstasy and related paraphernalia.
The investigation also uncovered that the driver was wanted for involvement in a previous stabbing incident in Lumberton. Officer Ekiz’s diligent efforts not only took a dangerous individual off the streets but also potentially thwarted future violent crimes.
