16-Year-Old, 11-Year-Old Shot in Trenton

TRENTON, NJ – A series of shootings in Trenton culminated on Friday, with two children being shot in the 100 block of Frazier Street at approximately 7:55 p.m.

The Trenton Police Department, upon arrival, found two juvenile victims, a 16-year-old female and an 11-year-old male, with gunshot wounds to their lower extremities. Both were conscious and alert when transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center.

Earlier in the evening, at around 5:45 p.m., two other individuals were wounded by gunfire approximately a mile away on the 900 block of Southard Street. Additionally, on the previous night, another shooting occurred in the area of the 900 block of South Broad Street.

Detective Lieutenant Brian Jones of the Trenton Police Department provided an update on the Frazier Street incident. The two juvenile victims were in their mother’s vehicle with their grandmother and two siblings when a dark-colored van or SUV fired at them before fleeing the scene.

The injuries sustained by the juveniles are non-life-threatening. The Mercer County Shooting Response Team is conducting an investigation into this incident.

The sequence of these violent events has led to an intensified investigation by local law enforcement officials. The Trenton Police Department encourages anyone with information to come forward to assist in their ongoing investigations.
