NORTH ARLINGTON, NJ – A significant theft occurred on New Year’s Eve in North Arlington, involving over $50,000 worth of valuables. The stolen items included a toolbox, car parts from Australia, and family heirlooms. The theft victim used the trailer for storage after downsizing his living arrangements.
North Arlington Police have released a surveillance image of a pickup truck believed to be involved in the theft. The truck was seen hauling away the 24-by-8½-foot black trailer, which notably lacked any lettering, late in the afternoon on December 31. The absence of a front license plate on the pickup has added a challenge to the investigation.
The trailer was parked on a rented spot in a River Road lot owned by the VFW. The lot also houses other trailers.
Authorities are actively seeking assistance in locating the stolen trailer and the pickup truck. North Arlington Police are encouraging anyone with information or sightings of the vehicles to contact them at (201) 991-4400.
