Stafford Township Police Make Arrest in Multiple Burglary Cases

STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ – The Stafford Township Police Department has arrested Gerardo Antonio Hernandez-Martinez, 24, in connection with a series of burglaries and thefts in the township. The arrest followed multiple reports of burglary and theft from five residences on Jennings Road between late December 2023 and early January 2024.

Investigations revealed the residences were ransacked, and various items, including electronics and food, were stolen. Some homes appeared to be unlawfully occupied during the owners’ absence. On January 8, 2024, officers responded to a burglary in progress on Jennings Road, leading to Hernandez-Martinez’s initial arrest and charges of Criminal Trespassing, Burglary, and Theft. He was briefly held at Ocean County Jail before being released due to Bail Reform.

A new burglary report on January 12, 2024, and subsequent investigation linked Hernandez-Martinez to the earlier incidents. Recovered stolen items were returned to their owners. On the same day, Hernandez-Martinez was apprehended at his workplace in Forked River, NJ, facing additional charges, including two counts of Burglary, one count of Theft, and Criminal Mischief. He is currently held at Ocean County Jail, awaiting a future court appearance.
