SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – In a recent development in the murder case of Savanah Soto, a pregnant teenager, and her boyfriend Matthew Guerra, a third suspect has been arrested in Texas. Christopher Preciado, 19, was previously charged with capital murder, while his father, Ramon Preciado, 53, faced charges of abuse of a corpse in the couple’s killings. Now, Ramon Preciado’s partner, Myrta Romanos, 47, is charged with abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, and altering/destroying/concealing a human corpse.
The San Antonio Police Department has indicated that the gun used in the murders belonged to Romanos. Surveillance footage, as noted in the probable cause affidavit and reported by San Antonio ABC affiliate KSAT, showed Romanos accompanying the Preciados as they moved Soto and Guerra’s car, with the victims’ bodies inside, to another location.
Soto’s family reported her missing on December 23, after she failed to attend a scheduled medical appointment related to her pregnancy. Guerra’s family was also unable to contact him. The car containing the bodies of Soto and Guerra was discovered behind a building in the 5900 block of Danny Kaye Drive on December 26, following a tip from a resident. Both victims had suffered gunshot wounds to the head.
Surveillance video captured a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Ramon Preciado, arriving at the scene. Ramon Preciado was seen interacting with the driver of the victims’ vehicle, believed to be his son. Romanos allegedly provided a towel to Ramon Preciado to wipe down the driver’s side door of the victims’ car, further implicating her in the crime.
