Montvale Resident Charged for Cybercrimes Involving Juveniles

MONTVALE, NJ – Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella has announced the arrest of Robert Setnitzky, a 61-year-old resident of Montvale, NJ.

Setnitzky, currently incarcerated at Northern State Prison, faces charges for possessing child sexual abuse material. The arrest followed an investigation led by Chief Jason Love of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

On Thursday, July 13, 2023, the Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit was alerted by New Jersey State parole officers to a parolee in possession of illegal material. Setnitzky was apprehended in Montvale for violating his release conditions.

Further investigation involving a search of Setnitzky’s electronic devices revealed the possession of materials depicting nude and sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children.

Consequently, on January 5, Setnitzky was charged with third-degree possession of child [censored]ography under N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4b(5)(b)(iii). He remains in custody awaiting further proceedings.
