ALEXANDRIA, VA – The Alexandria Police Department (APD) officers were dispatched to the intersection of Yale Drive and Quaker Hill Drive at approximately 3:30 p.m. following a report of a safety concern on a City of Alexandria School bus. Upon arrival, officers engaged with the bus driver, who had overheard a conversation among several students that raised safety concerns.

Three students were detained for investigation, which subsequently determined that there was no threat to the students on the bus or the driver.

Following this assessment, the bus resumed its route, and the students were released. The APD School Resource Officer is set to follow up on the incident and will be in communication with the families of the students involved.
