Two Arrested in Connection with Assault and Robbery in the Bronx

NEW YORK CITY, NY – On Monday, the New York City Police Department arrested two individuals in the Bronx.

Emmanuel Awah and Elias Afflada, both 19 years old, were apprehended at 1475 Townsend Avenue and 1181 Sheridan Avenue, respectively. They face charges of attempted murder, robbery, and assault.

The arrests are part of an ongoing investigation relating to an assault that occurred on Monday, January 1, on the southbound “D” train platform of the 182 Street-183 Street station.

The victim, a 29-year-old male, was attacked by four individuals after a verbal dispute escalated. The assailants punched and stabbed the victim, who is now in serious but stable condition at St. Barnabas Hospital.

The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the remaining two suspects. Descriptions and media of the individuals are available, and any information can be shared confidentially with the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline.
